The presentation of a digital version of the book, which includes elements of a graphic novel, about the Holocaust «Піжмурки зі смертю. Дитячі розповіді про недитячу історію» (Eng. “Hide and Seek with Death. Children Stories about Non-Children History” was held October, 19 in the Shevchenko Hall at the Chernivtsi National University.
The book is based on the stories of the Holocaust Jewish witnesses in Chernivtsi, it also includes authentic materials like photos, letters, archival documents and didactical part – term definitions, historical facts.
The book is prepared within the framework of the project “Erinnerung Lernen” (Eng. “Learn to Remember”), which combined number of educational and memorial initiatives concerning the preservation of the memory about the Holocaust in Ukraine.
The presentation is dedicated to the 77th anniversary of the ghetto creation in Chernivtsi and 10th anniversary of the Chernivtsi Museum of the History and Culture of Bukovinian Jews creation.
The book characters – the Holocaust witnesses – Mimi Taylor and Herbert Rubinstein, the representative of the Embassy of Germany in Ukraine and history teachers attended the presentation.
